Badgers (Donashi)
Badgers, the protector of the south also known as flat wolves, are diggers therefore are believed to assist medicine men in digging up the herbs needed for healing. Typically carved low with pointed noses and full tails. The elder brother Badger is red.
This very detailed badger fetish was hand carved by Zuni Artist Maxx Laate of solid Alabaster. Badger has Red Coral inlayed eyes. He is perched above his prey, a small rabbit which has turquoise inlay eyes. The entire carving is approximately 1 1/2 inch high by 2 inches long.
