The Zuni create many different animals and birds these days. Creatures that they see during their daily lives that may not provide benefit or blessing . In creating some of these creatures they attempt to get the figure as life like as possible thus featuring some of the finest carvings available. Many are believed to carry prayers to the heavens asking for rain.
This Fishstands approximately 1 inch tall and approximately 2 inches in length. This fetish is exquisitely carved with every detail. He has raised Red Coral inlay eyes. Hand carved by Zuni Artist Christine Bnteah this is a true asset to any collection.
