The Zuni create many different animals these days. Animals that they see during their daily lives that may not provide benefit or blessing. In creating some of these animals they attempt to get the figure as life like as possible thus featuring some of the finest carvings available. This Fish is approximately 3 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inch high and is exquisitely carved of Abalone shell. He has inlayed Black Jet and Turquoise eyes. Hand carved by Zuni artist Lloyo Tsaiaoutie, this is a true asset to any collection.
